Tamra and I have always talked about doing a pop-up summer shop, we didn’t get the time to sort it this year but we have just agreed to be in the Remodelista Spring Market in Seattle at the end of this month (very excited) and today we dropped off a chair at our multi talented singer/designer friend Isabelle Dunlop‘s pop-up shop on Kingsway and 10th in Vancouver. It is in the coolest space ever that will of course be pulled down one day to make flats, but for now the developers are giving local entrepreneurs the chance to have a free shopfront for their goods. Yey!
Isabelle hand makes all her beautiful clothes. She is a knitter and a fantastic seamstress, I was really impressed with all the finishing. She has so many cute Spring dresses and gorgeous capes, scarves and the most stunning knitted scalloped butterfly top (girls got skills). Our other mate Robert Edmonds (who is married to our favourite photographer Janis Nicolay) has a painting of Isabelle up too, and definitely check out the boys form Hamburger Disco and their fun Tshirts. Check it out if you are in Vancouver, Isabelle will be there until the end of April. 196 Kingsway Street. The shop is open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
