Who are you?

We are a husband and wife team…my name is Kory and she is Martina.

Where are you?

We are located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia in a town called Bowser.

Why do you hand make your products?

I began to woodwork as a way to earn some extra money but soon thereafter I found I really liked working with wood and I believed there was room for a more contemporary look to outdoor cedar furniture. Offsetting colours of different species of cedar and using the interesting grain patterns found in some pieces of wood enables me to create a unique look to a chair or lounger. Ive been very happy to find out that my work is appreciated and desired. The blessing of handmade is the maker is more in touch with the materials; there is no mass production, and more thought and feel gets put into each and every piece of furniture.

How long did it take to make?

It takes roughly 4 to 5 hours of actual working time to make the Foldable S Lounger but since there is glue time, from start to finish could be done in 24 hours.

What hopes/dreams do you have for your products? Where would you like to see them?

It would be great if I could see my chair at the beach by a single person or a dozen, I dont think it would matter. If even one person derived some sense of pleasure and comfort from something Ive created then I’d feel like I accomplished something. Ive also, often said to my friends that if my woodworking just allows me to be at home with my family and dog Id be happy, so hopefully that all comes to be.

Thank you Kory and Martina. Good luck with your business.
