The gifts are wrapped, the tree is decorated, recipes are selected and we are just about ready to host our friends and family for the holidays. We spend Christmas Eve with the same family friends each year and so to keep things fun and new, I have selected a variety of games to play on the night before Christmas. Of course these games will continue to be played well after the holidays are over, making them even more worth it. Take a look and see if you’d like to add any of these to your game closet!
For The Adults
Head1Liners ($39.50)- Created by Kvale Good Natured games, Head1Liners has players create their own headlines to photos and excel on the board based on the scores received from other players. This game scores major eco-friendly points as well. Each card in the game is made from soy-based inks and recycled paper while additional pieces are created from recycled wood and glass.
For The Children
Word Chase ($11.99)- The goal of this game is to familiarize kids with the 25 “most commonly used words in the English language.” Players will race to land on their selected words and then get back home before any other player. This game is also printed on recycled paper and also has phthalate-free lamination and water-based varnish.
For The Whole Crew
The Classics- Who doesn’t have fond memories of playing Monopoly or Taboo with their family growing up? Before running out to a local store to purchase a new version of the game, check out eBay.com or a local thrift store for used sets. Such a purchase will most likely save you money and help save resources that would be necessary to create a new game.
I wish all of our readers a wonderful holiday season! May your days be merry and bright!
