Homemade Advent Calendars

December first is rapidly approaching, but it’s not too late to pull together an advent calendar for your family. Especially when it could be this cute…

Baby Sock Advent Calendar: Gather a collection of children socks, either ones you already have or pick some up at the store. Clip each sock along a ribbon with a clothespin and you have a colorful, festive calendar that works beautifully for children (this one is via the wonderful Martha Stewart website, lots of good ideas there of course).

Chalkboard AdventCalendar: Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day recently debuted a chalkboardcalendar as a D-I-Y project. All that is required is a tree, small boxes, chalkboard paint, chalk and ribbon. That and a free afternoon for this Christmas tree with a twist. She has so many wonderful ideas, that you can check out…

A Million Ideas D-I-YAdvent Calendar: If you’re time is limited and you need to get going, consider snatching up this advent calendar off of the A Million Ideas Etsy store. Shop owner Christina will send you a PDF of the 2 ¼” boxes. All you need to do is print off the PDF on your favorite cardstock, cut, fold, and fill the boxes with your child’s favorite goodies.
