Thanks to Hipcamp, camping just became a whole lot easier.
For outdoor adventurers, families looking to make summertime memories and travellers on a budget, Hipcamp.com is out to make your next California camping trip a successful one.
The website allows users to search areas within California for the best campsites and get the lowdown on each spot’s amenities and nearby activities, from nearby kayaking rivers to local cave explorations. Simply hop on the site and search by activities, amenities or features to find the best spot for your camping desires.
“Our mission is to get more people outside,” said Hipcamp’s founder Alyssa Ravasio. “By making it easier to discover great campsite, we hope to inspire a broader demographic to embrace the outdoors and commit to protecting our planet.”
Also included on the website are insider tips for each campsite listed. For example, if you’re looking for a beach side spot near San Francisco, consider Half Moon Bay State Beach and snag campsite #38, which is literally on the sand. Looking to visit the famous redwoods? Hipcamp has all the details on eight nearby camping grounds for your visit.
While the site currently only serves campsite in California – and let’s face it, you should probably head to the sunshine state for a good camping trip at least once in your life – Ravasio and her team are planning to expand soon.
“Our plan is to expand to another 20 states this year and we are in the process of fundraising for that,” Ravasio told ABC News. “We haven’t actually chosen those 20 states yet but the general calculus is that we will go wherever we are being demanded the most.”
